No ‘Poo Hair Detox Day 24 Update; Mani of the Day

by aliceinloubieland

Hi everyone! I am quite amazed I made it up to day 24. More than a week ago, my crown was really greasy and waxy but it was easy to pull back without the help of hair sprays or gels. It easily worked with me when I had job interviews. On day 21, I went to Stinson Beach and it was foggy and cool but that didn’t stop me from enjoying my day. My hair was a mess by the end of the day, hard, lumpy and stringy. I have only been washing my hair with water and stopped all use of vinegar as I didn’t like the smell whenever I worked out. I found a BS recipe on a blog but I cannot for the life of me remember which one it was. Very simple recipe that I created well. Oh I just found it! Thank you Cali Green Mama for your recipe! I tweeked it a bit here and there and didn’t need any tea tree oil. So mine is just water and BS. A little bit went a long way for my hair. I didn’t need to massage or wait at all in the shower. I poured some on and split seconds later, done!

Day 6 No ‘Poo (without flash/with flash)

Day 24 (side profile/crown)

The back of my head looks greasy but it doesn’t feel that way to me. It is a hassle to comb everyday though because my hair catches a lot of dust but I get a lot of volume and my scalp is healthy. I am very glad I kept it up! Should you go no ‘poo, share your results with me!

I also wanted to update you on my garlic experiment. I have stopped using it. And ever since I stopped, the nails on my left hand weakened quite badly. They chip, flake and break nonstop. As for my right, healthy as can be. I still intake biotin pills everyday and multivitamins but I don’t think they are getting me anywhere.  In the mean time I’ll share with you a manicure from a few days back. I am currently wearing OPI Tickle My France-y.

OPI Strawberried in the Sand

It took 4 coats for full opacity and drying time was forever. This is a black label OPI. Pink is an unusual choice for me as I always get lobster claws with any corals. This leans sometimes to a barbie pink, coral, hot pink, etc. It’s quite amazing and you should pick on up. It’s not HTF. Well, at least for me it wasn’t. I’d suggest just wearing another plain pink and layering this color on top. Excuse the blemishes and smudges as it took forever to dry and I did my nails before bed. I had chips on day 4 without a base or top coat. And now I leave you with a memory of Stinson Beach… Have a great day!
